Privacy policy

1. Overview

This policy explains what information Holler ("Holler," "we," or "us") collects when you use our website, apps, and services (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who uses Holler — creators posting briefs and creatives offering their work. It should be read together with our terms of service.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you create an account or build a profile we collect your name, handle, email address, and the details you choose to add — bio, location, services, rates, portfolio work, social platforms, and audience size. When you use the Service we also collect the content you create: briefs, proposals, quotes, messages, reviews, and anything you upload.

Payment information. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processors. They collect your payment card or payout details directly; we receive transaction records (amounts, dates, status) but never store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. Like most services, we collect log and device data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken — and use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

3. How we use your information

  • To run the marketplace: showing your profile and briefs to other users, matching briefs with relevant creatives, and powering search and filters.
  • To process bookings and payments, hold and release escrow, and send receipts and transaction updates.
  • To verify accounts and keep the marketplace trustworthy — including confirming handles and detecting fraud, fee circumvention, and fake reviews.
  • To communicate with you about activity on your account (new applicants, messages, quotes, deliveries) and, with your consent where required, product news.
  • To improve the Service — understanding what's used, fixing bugs, and developing new features.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. How we share information

With other users. Holler is a marketplace, so parts of your information are visible by design: your profile, portfolio, rates, reviews, and public briefs can be seen by other users. Your messages, quotes, and confidential briefs are visible only to the people in that conversation or project.

With service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate — payment processing, cloud hosting, analytics, and customer support — under contracts that limit how they can use it.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or when we believe in good faith it's necessary to protect the safety of our users, investigate fraud, or defend our legal rights. If Holler is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction; we'll notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Messages

Messages between users are private to the conversation. We may use automated tools — and, for reported conversations, human review — to detect fraud, harassment, and attempts to move payment off-platform, because those protections are core to how Holler works.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we need to keep it to comply with legal obligations (for example, transaction records for tax purposes), resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Reviews you leave may remain visible in anonymized form so other users' histories stay accurate.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information or update your profile at any time.
  • Delete your account and personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and receive your data in a portable format.
  • Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any message.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@goholler.co. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (including the GDPR and the CCPA, where they apply). You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring — to protect your information. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

9. Children

Holler is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and accounts found to belong to minors will be removed. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us.

10. International users

Holler is operated from the United States, and your information is processed on servers located there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in-product before it takes effect. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
